This
past Wednesday night we started our third event of the year. We
started 25th but slowly worked our way through the 39 car field
to finsh a strong third. We were running down first and second place
but once again this week time was not on our side as we fell a few
laps short of a win. The good thing about the night was that we
ran much better then last week, not sure why but the car was just
on a rail with handling.
We
also retook the points lead back from Patrick Williams in the #78
Dodge Neon, who is a very consistent driver so all the points we
can gain on him is a major plus for us as we plan to win the points
title this year. We did make some changes to the car, seeing as
last week we had major over heating problems for the first time
with the Saturn, so we flushed the water out again with clean water
and also installed a grill in the front to try to get some air in
there to cool it down, and it did that very well.
Also
alot of people were asking about tech inspections last night, so
to explain we were told to take the valve covers off so they could
check valves and all those other good items in there, it was the
first time we had taken it off and good news is that with all the
miles on the car it was very clean and in very good shape :).
So
since we got to put it back on we might as well change oil, plugs,
and time it finally, seeing as we have never done it yet on this
car in two seasons of racing it lol. And while inspection might
be a pain in the butt it makes the racing better on the track because
you catch people who cheat and also makes our finishes more rewarding
because we did it legally!!! Oh yea we passed inspection with flying
colors.
