Well
tonight sure was fun... not really. I started in 20th, was planning
to move to the front quickly, and got stuck behind soo many slow
cars and couldn't go anywhere that it was just sad. Three laps in
the yellow came out, I was in 30th something position, everyone
got around me, including the #33 who started back in the 30's. When
we were under yellow I saw him in fourth place and I was all the
way in the back, so I was pretty frustrated that I couldn't get
around people. The race got going again and this time something
went amiss in the engine, I pushed the car over its limits and it
still wouldn't go that fast, I was like an anchor was holding it
back. Not sure what happened but it is getting looked into. So I
finished 10th somehow and put the car on the trailer pretty upset
that my season is still in a downward spiral.
In
other news... A car owner came up to me and asked me if I would
drive his Super X-Car for him next week, I said yes. So next week
I will probably be in the #01 Super X-Car, pulling double duty.
I thought it was really awesome that someone would let me drive
there car... especially in a division where wrecks happen anywhere
and everywhere haha.
Also
as you read last week I said I would be leaving the X-Car division
following the final points paying race on September 5th. As for
my feature plans I will be driving a mini stock to finish out the
season, my first race is scheduled for September 8th, pending how
I feel in the car. I did however take the car out for practice this
past Thursday, August 9th. For my first time in a mini stock mustang
I felt I did really well, I ran 50 laps just trying to get seat
time and ran times between 18.3 and 18.5 consistently. That is about
a second off the really really fast mini stock on Saturday nights,
so for my first time out there with a new car, tires that were two
years old, and a shifter breaking in my hand on a shift... I was
pretty happy with my first practice in the car. Now its time to
dial it in, get the cockpit set up to how I prefer it and its off
to the races.
