Well
since July my season has kind of been in the… well you know
what. From accidents, to freak breaks in parts, to accidents, it
hasn’t been much fun since June 27th to be exact. But it looks
like my season is finally turning around, and at the prefect time
too. Last week I had a career worst finish, 36th, and fell out of
the championship hunt. The only thing on my mind was to go win tonight,
and with a ill handling car, I did it… surprisingly. From
the first lap until two laps to go I just drove around trying to
pass cars and stay out of the wall, and did a fairly good job of
that. The #17 and #07 were so far in front there was no way I would
ever catch them, heck I couldn’t even see them from third
place they were so far ahead. I thought well I wanted to win but
I guess third isn’t too bad either.

Then
the yellow came out, and I was actually upset it did, the car was
soo bad in the turns I thought I would lose my positions. We went
green white checker, started to go, the #07 got under the #17 to
take the lead but I didn’t have enough power to pass either
one of them, then the yellow came out, and the #6 was now in fourth…
I hadn’t seen him all night and was confused as to where he
had come from. The green came out again, and I gave it all I had
but the #07 drove away from me, going down the back stretch I felt
I could get under the #17 and pass him for second, but I looked
over quickly and saw the #6 making it three wide, I knew this was
going nowhere good soon. I backed off going into turn three and
went below the white line, I heard a quick tire screech and saw
the yellow flag come out, and just as I thought, the #6 and #17
got together and the wreck took out some other good cars that were
having good runs.
This
time I was on the outside for the restart, and was like why not
let’s see what this car can do, and it was my first time all
night up high and the car was faster but even tighter. Me and the
#07 were door to door the final two laps, then coming out of turn
four I put my foot in it just a little sooner then I would have,
I thought I was going to park it in the wall the thing was soo tight,
I just barely kept it off the wall and beat the #07 to the line
by a nose, it was by far the closest finish at the line I have had.
In
the Super X race I made it up to 12th place two laps in, but then
I hit the wall coming off of turn 2, tire went flat, and the spare
didn’t work out too well so I just parked it for the night,
and finished 28th. If I had been able to stay on the track and finish
the race I would have had my top 20 finish, but oh well. I won’t
be in the Super X #01 next week so I can focus on just the X-Car,
but I might be in it for the Town Fair Tire Finale. I would again
like to thank Glen Estes for letting me race his #01 Super X-Car
in these final races.
Also
a big thanks to my dad and Racecar Rob for getting all the parts
undone so I could pass tech.
