Solid Night For Both Cars

---Before The Race---

It seems to be a great day outside, not hot, not cold, and both Mohegan Sun cars are race ready. This is the final race we get to tweak on them before the Mohegan Sun Double Down Shootout next Saturday, Aug. 30th.

If you get a chance pick up a copy of The Thames River Times, its a paper that is mailed to homes in Ledyard, Preston and Gales Ferry. The copy you want to get is from Aug 21, Vol. IV, No. 34. Its easy to spot as all three Moran cars and drivers are on the front cover, there is a great article in there about their racing careers and life away from the track. If you can't get a copy of it in person then CLICK HERE to read it online.

---After The Race---

Tonight was a good night for both Mohegan Sun / Shantok Motors cars. The #2 avoided a huge pileup in front of him and was able to get out and lead the first laps of the race. He would stay up there and finish a very strong second place.

The #30 went from 18th to 5th in one lap following the pile up coming out of turn #2 on the opening lap. The car ran stronger tonight then it had all year, even though it is still under power, but thanks to some bump drafting from the #11 we were able to run up front for a few laps at least.

The car then started to fade around lap 10 due to the left front tire going soft, it finally went completely down as I turned off the track. Come to find out the rim got damaged in the wreck, im guessing from sliding with the #94 to a complete stop, we rubbed a little but it was on my rim and not my door.

It was ok because it stayed up thru the whole race, however around lap 5 the exhaust broke off of the exhaust manifold, so we lot even more power as we were trying to run down the #52 to record our first top ten of the year.

We will continue to work on the motor as well as fix the rims and put a new exhaust on it. We are getting better, just not as fast as we had hoped by this point in the season, its hard when you go from a winning year when each week you could win, to just trying to not get run over.
