Alot
of buzz has been started about TheBowlIsBack.com.
I for one personally feel that the site was not needed, since Terry
who is part of the new group owns the site and domain. I feel its
not needed because everyone is used to Speedbowl.com,
adding another site for one is confusing. Secondly, Sid mentioned
that he did not want to update it because it was being redone, updating
a site and rebuilding it are two different things, because a web
page is a file, you just change files. You can make a new web page
on your computer and then put it up whenever, like if you notice
when MCM.com changes colors for holidays and what not, that is a
change of files which are made well before they are put online.
So why they won't update the old style while working on a new style
is beyond me. (Also note that we get at least 10+ visitors a day
on this site just from finding us because they Google thebowlisback.com
or bowl is back, or is the bowl coming back... kinda tells me its
a hard URL to remember, I for one had to Google it to find it as
well :( after trying to type it in and couldn't remember the sites
name)
When
I decided to go racing at the Speedbowl the only means of getting
information for there was Speedbowl.com,
I know for a fact a few new comers want to race there this year,
and they are contacting me for information because they can't find
it anywhere. Also its really too bad that when they did update the
Speedbowl.com web site they didn't include a link to TheBowlIsBack.com
instead just updated the ticker across the top. If this is how they
want to say its a new management group then I'm pretty disappointed
thus far. I mean why do we have to keep the information a secret
to the main racing population, are only the select few allowed to
know rules and schedules?
